JASMINE System of the Systems the 10th time participation in NATO CWIX 2017 exercise and its broad, effective use and tests

TELDAT as a POLISH company the longest time, in the most extensive way and most intense among national defense companies has systematically undertaken costly challenges and efforts (including in terms of time) to verify in a credible military and international environment (also battle combat) their specialized products and competences. The verification has favored to foster their dynamic and unique development. These actions and, their results have largely contributed to the position of Poland in the strict leadership of NATO countries in the area of development of command and communication systems and support of military operations. TELDAT's and its solutions the multiple fruitful participation in this subsequent NATO's largest, allied and interoperability exercise NATO CWID and then NATO CWIX played an important role in this area. This happened as well as in the case of this year's important exercise, which was our tenth (jubilee) experience. The exercise took place on 12-29 June 2017 at the JFTC (Joint Force Training Centre). TELDAT once again has taken part the exercise as a Polish company with the most numerous team of engineers and a package of the latest comprehensive C4ISR class products being a part of JASMINE System of the Systems. The JASMINE systems, software and hardware have once again passed positively all scheduled tests and successfully played its role in many specialized and dedicated areas of the NATO CWIX exercise so called Focus Areas: Land, Air, Maritime, MIP, FFT, TDL, Communications and Modelling & Simulation. For the tests this year TELDAT submitted the basic components of the JASMINE platform accredited by the National Security Authority and qualified by the Organizers of exercise. There were the following solutions:

  • HMS JASMINE - Headquarters Management System dedicated to Corps, Division and Brigade. The system is composed of the following only Polish, matured and implemented in Polish Armed Forces solutions: Integrated Data Communication Node JASMINE and command and communications software C3IS JASMINE - HMS C3IS JASMINE Software Module with JASMINE Web Portal;
  • BMS JASMINE - Battlefield Management System dedicated to Battalion, Company, Platoon and Section. The system as well as is composed of the following only Polish, matured and the most modern in the world solutions: on-board data communications node and command and communications software C3IS JASMINE - BMS C3IS JASMINE Software Module. The primary feature of this system is that it is unified with the above HMS JASMINE system which is in large quantities successfully used in the Polish Armed Forces and mostly consists of the same software modules which offer C3I and management functionalities dedicated to tactical echelon (because it is constructed on the base of versatile Set Of Services dedicated to JASMINE System of the Systems);
  • JFSS JASMINE - also the only Polish Joint Fire Support System, including Joint Terminal Attack Controller. The system consists of the following components: Combat IDentification Server CID JASMINE, and its software C3IS JASMINE - JFSS C3IS JASMINE Software Module. The primary feature of this system is also that it is essentially integrated with the HMS JASMINE and has the same C3IS and management software for its main components.

Above mentioned the JASMINE solutions have been successfully used and passed numerous tests (about 400) in the coalition environment (30 participants) in the following range:

  1. Scenario - as a part of broadly played operational scenarios. The systems from few nations participated scenarios, including HMS JASMINE at the highest level of command, and as well as BMS JASMINE and JFSS JASMINE. We are satisfied to state that our comprehensive systems played main roles in Land Forces scenario. They were an Access Point for other countries systems and effectively supported and integrated command and communications processes. Our solutions have been also successfully subjected to interoperability standard tests. JASMINE Web Portal was also successfully used as an immanent module systems to create Common Operational Picture (COP).
  2. Functional - HMS JASMINE, BMS JASMINE and JFSS JASMINE solutions have been successfully tested the subsequent time in terms of interoperability in the main area of the exercise targets. The positive verification of the latest implemented interoperability standards, which significantly enhance the set of C3IS JASMINE services has been conducted to the extent of as follows: data exchange, visualization of air situation. In this context it should be emphasized that TELDAT’s engineers and JASMINE solutions (as only Polish team and solutions) for many months are involved in research and development of the latest version of MIP 4.0 interoperability standard in MIP Working Group. In this context it should be emphasized that our engineers and JASMINE solutions (as the only Polish team and solutions) are involved for many months in research and development of the latest version of MIP 4.0 interoperability standard in MIP Working Group. In terms of this standard HMS JASMINE was once again as the only Polish successfully tested system in experimental tests. TELDAT involvement makes the high position of Poland in the strict leadership of NATO countries in the area of C4ISR systems development.
  3. Mobile - carried out in the Communications Focus Area. BMS JASMINE and JFSS JASMINE commonly with the latest versions of Tactical Terminals - the only this type mobile solutions C4ISR class have been intensively exploited. These solutions have been used in the exercise in its dynamic operations since 2012. In the result of the tests it is important that our solutions reliably confirmed the capability to integration and cooperation with other allied systems in terms of as follows: C2, combat operations, reconnaissance, training and simulations. Moreover BMS JASMINE as only one in the exercise was mounted in the vehicle and was used as mobile. It operated in the city area even on long distances. One of the practical applications that aroused interest among participants of the exercise was the video transmission from unclassified network to the NATO SECRET network by the use of certified NC3A DIODE.

The exercise was visited by high rank of NATO and other countries representatives e.g. NATO Deputy Secretary General, Deputy Chief of NATO Military Committee, ACT commander, Under Secretary of the State of Polish MOD, Deputy Chief of General Staff. In this context we are pleased to announce that our latest solutions were of interest to military and civilian delegation, visitors and the media. Due to the fact that they proved they are manufactured at the highest world level and are developed by top-class engineers. The solutions as well as have implemented the required interoperability standards and functionalities and fully fit in current and future C4ISR needs of Polish MOD.
