TELDAT during the Heritage Security Congress 2023 (KOBED 2023)

From May 31 to June 2, 2023, a great number of exhibitors and participants took part in the first edition of the KOBED Congress dedicated to modern technologies in cultural property protection.

The project was organized by the Institute for Heritage Security and the Polish Naval Academy. It was held in Gdynia under the honorary patronage of the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the General Conservator of Monuments – Ph. Dr Jarosław Sellin and the Chief Commandant of the State Fire Service MG Andrzej Bartkowiak. Among the topics presented during the Congress there were: security of cultural heritage during armed conflicts and crisis situations, new technologies in the security and protection of cultural assets, the latest IT systems supporting protection of the cultural property and challenges for new technologies in this area.

During KOBED Congress, TELDAT engineers presented the possibilities of Crisis Management System JASMINE (CMS JASMINE) – Multi-Environment Automated Crisis Management System in supporting the protection and saving of monuments. They demonstrated in detail solutions facilitating the work and coordination of activities of cells and units of emergency services at all levels, related to, for example, the evacuation of works of art from their storage/display places in the event of a threat. They also, successfully, conducted workshops for the participants of the Congress on the practical application of the CMS JASMINE in managing, planning, directing and monitoring threats, e.g. by cultural and historical institutions.

During the Congress, together with the State Fire Service, the Military Fire Service and rescue services, a practical exercise involving a staged fire outbreak at the Naval Museum in Gdynia was conducted. It allowed to fully prove the advantages of the CMS JASMINE, for example: monitoring of a crisis situation in real-time and use of video streaming from an unmanned aerial vehicle and rescuers’ cameras.
